Our place - new fireplace

The saga

We had scheduled in the installation of our new fireplace just before we went on our trip to Poland. After a few hiccups the fire was installed and working just before we left.

Our installer didn't properly look after the components once they'd been delivered. The cast-iron front piece fell and snapped in two.

A few days later the broken piece was replaced, so we thought everything was fine. Then, some weeks later our next problem came up. Suddenly the slate hearth developed a crack.
