Aye, that's us: Jan 2005, Loch Lomond

Weekend at Loch Lomond

January 2005

Just a few hours drive from Edinburgh to Luss, of course that included a pub lunch on the way. We stayed in a Corbett Suite at The Lodges at Loch Lomond. Each room has a small sauna, just the thing for when you back back from a walk in the cold crisp sunshine. We were damn lucky with the weather, it poured rain on the day we travelled over, and the staff said it had rained every day for weeks. Our two full days there it was nice and sunny - cold mind, quite frosty, but nice for walking. Our stay included dinner, bed and breakfast, meals were fabulous. Also there's a "health spa", it was booked solid for the Saturday and pretty busy on the Friday too, Morag just managed to get a booking for a facial. All in all, it's great place for a relaxing weekend.

On the way back we detoured round the other side of the loch to Balmaha to see the loch from the other side.
